Congratulations to PMS Future Business Leader of America member, Nevaeh Shelton, who won first place in the WV SIFMA Foundation Stock Market Game Year Long Middle School category.
The Stock Market Game allows students to delve into the intricate world of stock trading by investing a virtual $100,000 in real-time stock markets.
Nevaeh, one of only two girls in Peterstown’s FBLA club, said “I’m going to beat all these boys” at the beginning of the year and she kept her promise, beating her peers locally and across the state.

Students at Peterstown Middle School will be returning their Chromebooks on Monday, May 20th. Please make sure you bring them along with your charger. If you have lost your charger the fee is $30 and if you have lost your Chromebook that fee is $250. Checks can be made out to James Monroe High.
PMS students were able to perform for the community last night at a dinner theatre. Janet Miller and Tami Brown worked diligently to put together the whole performance and we are grateful for their talents and abilities. Of course, this wouldn’t have been possible without all the students and their gifts!

Monroe County Shines at the West Virginia History Bowl!
On Tuesday, April 30th, Monroe County participated in the 15th annual West Virginia History Bowl, where over 100 schools competed. Peterstown Middle qualified through the play-in tournament and impressively placed 5th in the state tournament! Meanwhile, Mountain View took second place in Region One and finished as the State Runner-Up! Two Mountain View team members, Luke Fullen and Maddie Baker, made the All-Star team!

Peterstown Team: Cooper Frazier, Alexis Broyles, Marshal White, Jessa Hill, and alternate Skylar Brubaker.

The golf team won 🥇 their 4th match today, beating the closest challenger, Princeton Middle, by 13 strokes. The team has finished third, first, first, first, second and first in their six matches to date.

Mrs. Newberry’s 8th grade language arts students just completed a study on Greek mythology and a novel study of “The Adventures of Ulysses”. Students completed the study with a hands-on creative activity of their choices.
5th grade students of the month for March are AJ Patterson and Chloe Carden.
